Most people who haven’t been to New York still have a picture of it in their head – a picture that might depend on their favorite films. It might be the Ghostbusters grappling with supernatural forces on top of an art-deco skyscraper, or King Kong batting away the fighter planes from Empire State Building – or Audrey Hepburn or Meg Ryan falling in love atop the same building. It all depends on what sort of films you like. For me, it’s Woody Allen scurrying among the brownstones and waving his hands while he tries to explain himself to a woman who he has outrageously betrayed – and succeeding. While the legendary attractions like the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, Central Park and Times Square are a definite must, there is so much more to New York Travel. There are the artworks at Whitney Museum of American Art, MoMA and Metropolitan Museum of Art; the spectacular architecture encompassed by Brooklyn Bridge and the Flatiron and Chrysler Buildings and of course, the fantastic retail outlets!

There are three airports that you can use when traveling to New York City - John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), La Guardia (LGA) and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). JFK, the largest of the three airports, began service in 1948 and has since grown to five times it original size. Located just 15 miles from downtown Manhattan, transportation options range from public transportation to taxis and hired cars.

For East Coast business travelers, New York City is easily accessible by taking the train. Amtrak offers several routes that travel between New York City and numerous East Coast cities.

One of the best places to start looking for such package deals is at the various different airlines. Today most of the major airlines in the USA offer both air and land packages and this includes American Airlines, Delta and Continental Airlines. The Bronx Zoo is a perfect family attraction. There are more than 4,000 animals in this amazing zoo, which is the largest metropolitan zoo in the US. The "World of Darkness" is an interesting exhibit. It features all sorts of nocturnal animals, like bats. At just $14 for adults and $11 for kids, it's a great deal too!

If you're heading upstate, the Greater Niagara region makes for a perfect stop. Surely you've heard of Niagara Falls? If you want to get close to the beauty, take a journey on the Maid of the Mist. Just remember, this voyage gets you real close, so raingear is a must. No matter which type of tour you chose you are bound to be enthralled by the views, attractions and the sights and sounds that are unique to New York City.
